Remapping the Human Template: Gods of the New Wilderness Book One

About

300 years after the collapse of human civilization, Raine Naidu is resurrected into a biological computer called the BioGrid which is housed in the root system of a vast genetically engineered forest in the mountains of the Pacific Northwest. The reputation the forest has earned while protecting itself from humanity’s incursions has earned it the moniker “The Carnivorous Forest.”

The virtual world within the BioGrid is run by two warring factions – the Free-thinkers who champion a reality where the sentient trees are humanity’s rightful heirs; and the Core, which holds fast to the original mission stating that the BioGrid – the world’s last surviving computer – was designed to serve humanity.

The Core turns control of the system over to Adoris, the psychopathic leader of the human outpost of Hope – who is devoted to restoring humanity back to its former supremacy at any cost, while Raine finds himself leading the Free-thinkers in a revolution.

The battle for Earth’s future has begun!

Praise for this book

One of the most refreshingly quirky and original explorations of networked intelligence I've ever encountered.

"Sproule makes this zany concept wonderfully believable with his firm grasp of concepts, graphic imagery, and some fine writing."

"A rare and wonderful book, though a tad cynical. It’s about us, after all. Be prepared to be shocked. And amazed."

Sexy, fast moving and satisfying - I found it hard to put down.

"...a bold and thought-provoking work that stands out for its originality and creativity. The novel flips expectations, portraying humans as cruel and AIs as humane, while confronting readers with unspeakable crimes and deeply relevant contemporary issues. The writing is sharp and compelling, making this a memorable read from start to finish.
